Three-day book fair begins at Sindhi Adabi Board

A three-day book fair started at the Sindhi Adabi Board (SAB) on Sunday.
The occasion was initiated by SAB chairman Makhdooom Saeeduzaman Atif. Speaking on the event, Makhdoom Atif said the book fair would draw in youth and promote book reading culture.
He said the board would put together a Sindhi-Urdu mushaira one month from now which would strengthen ties between the two communities and promote harmony.
Five books — Qurran Majeed ja moti, Gulshan raaz, Aah ji aahee zaat, deewan mamoo and man andar — were launched on the first day of the fair.
Homage was paid to late Makhdoom Talibul Maula, who had filled in as SAB executive, at the meeting held during the deliberations.
It was led by writer Shabbir Shah Haatif. Dr Abdul Ghaffar Soomro, Sarfaraz Rajar, Mukhtiar Malik and Dr. Mohammad Pathan were privileged guests.
Shabbir Shah said Talibul Maula had dealt with Sindhi language's alphabets and vocabulary, adding that he had additionally empowered youthful artists and journalists. He said the Makhdoom had updated SAB from a one-room office to an excellent beautiful. Mukhtiar Malik said Talibul Maula was a non-controversial fellow among his fellow poets. He said he was a progressive man ideologically. He had inclination to music which was evident from his poetry, he added.
Sarfaraz Rajar said Talibul Maula had a multidimensional personality. He had devoted his life for Sindhi language, knowledge and literature.
